About PhxBUGPhxBUG is a BSD User Group for the Phoenix Metro area. Our goal is to promote usage and knowledge of BSD, and help create a local BSD community. We welcome all flavors (OpenBSD/FreeBSD/NetBSD/Other). We're focusing on the working role of BSDs (servers, routers, firewalls), but all interests are welcome. If you know Linux and are curious about BSD then join us. You'll find a lot in common, and some pleasant surprises as well. Meetings We meet monthly, currently on the 1st Tuesday. The current location is the ASU, Tempe Center (Map) at Mill & University in Tempe, much thanks to Wayne Porter! Mailing List & IRC See the Community page for info & instructions. Fees There are NO FEES. Membership is free. Sign up for the mailing list, sign up on the web site, or just show up at the meetings. History PhxBUG was started at the beginning of 2006 by Darrin Chandler and Darren Spruell. In early 2007 we joined forces with Jason Dixon and Mike Erdely of CapBUG for mutual support, and this lead us to form MetaBUG, a federation of BSD User Groups "to help promote local BSD user groups by helping to share ideas and experiences with other BUG organizations." |
